Support for Mine Action
In 2014, the Republic of Korea (South Korea) contributed US$229,600 to mine action through the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Assistance in Mine Action (VTF) and the ITF (International Trust Fund) Enhancing Human Security.
South Korea’s contributions to the VTF—representing nearly three quarters (74%) of its total contribution—went toward support to Afghanistan, Colombia, Lebanon, and South Sudan. Its contributions through the ITF went to Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) and Palestine (Gaza strip) to support victim assistance projects.

South Korea increased its 2014 contribution by 15% (about $30,000) compared to 2013. Since 2010, South Korea has contributed more than $1 million to mine action, consistently contributing at least $200,000 each year.
