Support for Mine Action

In 2016, the Kingdom of Denmark contributed DKK68.9 million (US$10.2 million)[1] in mine action funding to seven states. This represents an 11% increase from 2015.

The largest contribution went to Iraq (DKK33.5 million/$5 million) for clearance activities, representing half of Denmark’s total contribution for the year. South Sudan and Afghanistan also received substantial funds, both receiving the equivalent of more than $1 million each.

In 2012–2016, Denmark’s contributions for mine action totaled about DKK302 million ($49.6 million), with an annual contribution averaging approximately DKK60.3 million ($9.9 million). In comparison, during the previous five-year period from 2007–2011, Denmark provided DKK310 million ($58 million) to mine action.[3]
