Support for Mine Action

In 2017, Canada contributed C$14.2 million (US$10.9 million)[1] to mine action projects in eight countries.

The majority of its contribution went to Afghanistan and Iraq, both receiving more than US$3 million each—representing 58% of Canada’s total funding—while Colombia and Ukraine also received substantial funds.

From 2013–2017, Canada’s support to mine action totaled more than C$62 million (US$50.5 million), with an average contribution of C$12.4million (US$10.1 million). This is half as much as the C$122 million (US$115.8 million) provided by Canada during the previous five-year period from 2008–2012.[3]
