Support for Mine Action

In 2018, New Zealand contributed NZ$13.2 million (US$9.2 million) in mine action funding. This represents a significant increase (70%) compared to the NZ$7.6 million (US$5.4 million) provided in 2017.[1]

New Zealand reported allocating a large part of its contribution—NZ$11 million (US$7.6 million) or 83% of its total contribution in 2018—to victim assistance activities.

From 2014–2018, New Zealand’s contribution for mine action totaled NZ$52.2 million (US$37.7 million). This is a substantial increase (85% when expressed in national currency terms; 72% after conversion into US dollar) from the NZ$28.2 million (US$21.9million) recorded during the previous five-year period from 2009–2013.
