Support for Mine Action

In 2019, the Republic of Angola received US$11.1 million (56% increase compared to 2018) from five donors.[1] As in 2016–2018, Angola did not receive international support for victim assistance in 2019. Instead, all funds were allocated to capacity-building, clearance, and risk education activities.

The government of Angola has contributed more than $170 million to its mine action program since 2015, amounting to 84% of its total mine action budget. In 2018, it contributed $15.7 million and received $11.1 million from international donors, resulting in a $26.8 million overall budget.[3]

In 2015–2019, Angola was one of the 20 largest recipients of international mine action funding and received more than $32 million over the five-year period. In 2019, international assistance totaled more than $10 million for the first time since 2014.
