Support for Mine Action

In 2019, the Principality of Liechtenstein contributed CHF175,000 (some US$176,000)[1] in mine action funding through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).

As has been the case in each year since 2014, two contributions totaling CHF150,000 ($150,951) were provided to the ICRC for victim assistance and risk education activities, representing 86% of Liechtenstein’s contribution. The rest of its contribution was allocated to clearance activities.

From 2015–2019, Liechtenstein provided constant annual contributions to mine action activities, with an average annual contribution of some $220,000. In 2019, its contribution decreased by 20%. In the previous five-year period, from 2010–2014, Liechtenstein provided a similar level of annual funding, with a combined total of $1.1 million.
