Spain’s reduction in mine action support is a direct result of government-wide austerity measures. Since 2009, Spain’s contributions have dropped by more than €10 million ($14 million).

Between 2013–2017, Spain’s funding to mine action totaled €3 million ($3.7 million), this is less than 10% of the €30.5 million ($42.9 million) contributed during the previous five-year period, from 2008 to 2012.[3]
