COVID-19 and mine action support
Sweden reported that some of its mine action resources had also addressed the pandemic response efforts, such as the delivery of COVID-19 awareness and prevention messages during risk education activities. In cases where implementing partners had not been able to use all funds received in 2020, unspent funds would remain available for mine action work in 2021.[3]
Five-year support to mine action
From 2016–2020, Sweden provided more than $48 million in support to mine action activities, its 2018 contribution accounted for about 40% of the combined total.
This is about 18% more than the SEK363.3million ($53.1 million) contributed during the previous five-year period, from 2011–2015.
