Bahamas

Key developments since 1999: The Bahamas became a State Party on 1 March 1999.

The Bahamas signed the Mine Ban Treaty on 3 December 1997, ratified on 31 July 1998, and the treaty entered into force on 1 March 1999. The Bahamas has not yet enacted domestic implementation measures. It submitted an initial Article 7 transparency report on 12 March 2002, but no subsequent annual reports.^[1] The country voted in favor of United Nations General Assembly Resolution 58/53, as it had done on similar pro-ban resolutions since 1996. The Bahamas has never produced, transferred, or used antipersonnel mines.^[2] It has no stockpile and the country is not mine-affected.^[3]
