Azerbaijan received international support for mine action in 2021 totaling $1.4 million. This followed a six-week armed conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia over Nagorno-Karabakh in September 2020. As a result of this conflict, Azerbaijan regained control over a large part of Nagorno-Karabakh, including heavily mined areas along the former Line of Contact between Armenia and Azerbaijan.[3] Azerbaijan gained full control of Nagorno-Karabakh after a military offensive on 19 September 2023.
