Support for Mine Action
In 2015, the Republic of Korea (South Korea) contributed US$319,320 to mine action through the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Assistance in Mine Action (VTF) and the ITF (International Trust Fund) Enhancing Human Security.
South Korea’s contributions to the VTF—representing three-quarters of its total contribution—went toward support to Afghanistan, Colombia, Iraq, and Lebanon. Its contributions through the ITF went to mine action projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Palestine, as well as in the Central Asia region.

South Korea increased its 2015 contribution by 40% (nearly $90,000) compared to 2014. Since 2011, South Korea has contributed approximately $1.3 million to mine action, consistently contributing at least $200,000 each year.
