#CMM2023 reported 1,172 #ClusterMunition casualties in 2022, the highest number of casualties reported since 2010. Civilians represented 95% of all casualties whose status was recorded in 2023. #CCM11MSP

#Civilians are the main victims of #ClusterMunitions, with #Children particularly at risk. #Children account for 71% of casualties in #2022 where age is recorded. These weapons should never be used, anywhere, by anyone.

29 states/other areas are contaminated by #ClusterMunitions, incl. 11 @ISUCCM States Parties. #CMM2023 finds at least 93km2 reported cleared by States Parties in 2022 and +75,000 submunitions destroyed.

#CMM2023 finds Russia used #ClusterMunitions extensively in attacks since its invasion of #Ukraine. Ukrainian forces have also used the weapon. Both countries must commit to accede to @ISUCCM and ban the weapons asap!
