Support for Mine Action
In 2022, Italy contributed a total of €7.6 million (US$8 million) in mine action funding to eight countries.[1] This represents a 47% increase compared to its 2021 level of funding.
Funding contributed to victim assistance through the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and clearance through the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).

Mine action assistance approach
In 2001, Italy established the Trust Fund for Humanitarian Demining, which is dedicated to allocating resources to mine action projects.
Italy supports all pillars of mine action, focusing in particular on clearance and victim assistance.
Five-year support to mine action
From 2018–2022, Italy contributed more than €24 million ($27 million) to mine action, compared to €11.3 million ($13.2 million) during the previous five-year period from 2013–2017.
Italy has steadily increased its annual support for mine action over the last decade: from €1.1 million in 2013, to more than €3 million in 2017 and 2018, to more than €4 million in 2019–2021, and to over €7 million in 2022.
