Support for Mine Action

In 2022, Sweden allocated SEK126 million (US$12.5 million) in mine action funding to four countries and to global activities.[1] Global funding supported the work of the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD), the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Geneva Call, and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).

Five-year support to mine action

From 2018–2022, Sweden provided more than SEK577 million ($63 million) in mine action support, up from SEK288 million ($38.4 million) contributed during the previous five-year period from 2013–2017. This represents a doubling of the funding level when expressed in national currency terms, and a 65% increase when expressed in United States (US) dollar terms.
