Support for Mine Action

In 2022, eight donors contributed a total of US$12.7 million for mine action activities in Somalia. This represents a 48% increase from the $8.6 million provided in 2021.[1]

The largest contribution was from the United States (US), which provided $4 million. Germany contributed almost $3 million. Italy and Germany contributed to victim assistance activities in 2022, though most of the international support provided to Somalia went toward clearance and risk education.

Five-year support for mine action

In the five-year period from 2018–2022, international support to mine action in Somalia totaled some $58.6 million, with the annual contribution fluctuating from a low of $8.6 million in 2021 to a high of $12.7 million in 2022.
