Support for Mine Action

In 2011, New Zealand contributed NZ$5,400,000 (US$4,276,800)[1] in mine action funding for victim assistance, clearance, and advocacy. The largest contribution (NZ$1,800,000/$1,425,600) went to the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT).

New Zealand provided monetary support to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic through the Cluster Munitions Trust Fund for Lao PDR and to the OPT and the UN Mine Action Service (UNMAS) through the UN Voluntary Trust Fund for Assistance in Mine Action.

New Zealand’s contribution in 2011 increased by 27% from 2010, the second consecutive year that New Zealand increased its support to mine action by more than 25%. From 2007–2011, New Zealand’s contribution for mine action totaled almost NZ$20 million ($14.52 million).
